They have been scanned at high resolution, painstakingly digitally remastered and reproduced using the latest laser technology. We have put many man hours into producing this one set of 15 pictures.

Lithographers and printers employed artists to hand color prints. During the Civil War Godey's employed 150 women to hand tint their fashion plates. At that time circulation of the magazine numbered approx 150,000 issues/month. Other magazines and lithographers such as Peterson's Magazine, Currier & Ives and Kellog Bros. employed artists to hand tint their prints. Unpainted prints were also available for sale to be colored at home.
Available on Soft White heavy artist paper or Ivory heavyweight card stock. Both papers are acid free.
Watercolors may be enhanced with Gum Arabic. (Sold Separately)
