Customer Reviews
Original Civil War Period False Embroidered Hat Numerals.
1/2 Inch, 19th Century. Manufacturer Unknown. Prong fastener.
Silver, may be polished to original shine.
This rare and wonderful grouping of false-embroidered hat numerals were worn by officers in their embroidered hat insignia. All of these numerals came out of a collection of a descendant of General Grant.
We proudly offer these up to you. A small piece of history.
PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE ORIGINAL ITEMS. THE SOLDERED PRONGS ON THEM MAY HAVE BECOME BRITTLE WITH AGE.
THEREFORE, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE WILL NOT SEPARATE WITH USE.
THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL ITEMS , BUT NEW SOLDER MAY BE NECESSARY IN SOME INSTANCES
Also note: There may be inconsistencies in solder of original items. Each is Hand Made and therefore may be imperfect as per modern interpretation.
ALL SALES FINAL.
Be sure to use an awl to pre-make holes for the prongs!
